Job Title: Project Engineer – Component Cleanliness Facility

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer to oversee our existing ISO 16232 component cleanliness facility for engine components and sub systems. In this role, you will be the technical lead responsible for ensuring that parts, manufacturing environments, and washing systems comply with strict automotive and industrial technical cleanliness standards. You will manage incoming sample testing, analyze contamination reports, and maintain the compliance and validation of our cleanliness extraction and analysis machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility & Process Management: Oversee the daily operations of the ISO 16232 technical cleanliness laboratory and facility, ensuring standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Contamination Analysis: Check and inspect incoming component samples for particulate contamination, identifying metallic, non-metallic, and fiber particles.
- Report Review & Approval: Analyze and review product sample laboratory reports, verifying that the Component Cleanliness Code (CCC) meets client specifications and internal quality limits.
- Equipment Compliance & Calibration: Manage the calibration, maintenance, and compliance of cleanliness extraction cabinets, automatic microscopic analysis systems, and particle counting machinery.
- Root Cause & Troubleshooting: Investigate cleanliness failures, identify the root causes of contamination in the production pipeline, and implement corrective actions.
- Client & Interdepartmental Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients and internal teams regarding component cleanliness testing methodologies and technical requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience working in a technical cleanliness laboratory or quality engineering role, specifically within the automotive industry.
- Standards Expertise: Deep, practical working knowledge of the ISO 16232 standard (and VDA 19.1 equivalent).
- Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge of operating and maintaining fluid extraction equipment, vacuum filtration systems, and automated optical microscopes or SEM/EDX particle counters.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex technical reports, particle size distributions, and gravimetric analysis data.
Preferred Skills
- Certification as a Technical Cleanliness Inspector (VDA 19.1 / ISO 16232).
- Experience with microscopic particle analysis software (e.g., Zeiss, Leica, or Olympus cleanliness modules).
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (8D, 5-Why, FMEA).
