Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Position Description: We are looking for an experienced Production Support – Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in test automation using Cypress and TypeScript, along with a solid understanding of web application testing and RESTful APIs. You will work closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and other cross-functional teams to ensure effective test coverage, quality, and release readiness.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Understand business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to define effective test coverage.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress and TypeScript.
- Create and execute functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end test suites for web applications.
- Validate APIs, data flows, and integrations as part of test scenarios.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to triage defects and ensure timely resolution.
- Analyze test failures, identify root cause, and provide clear defect reports with supporting evidence.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to test planning, estimations, and release readiness.
- Maintain test documentation, test data, and automation assets to support continuous quality improvement.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Must-Have Skills:
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and API design principles (OpenAPI).
- Strong hands-on experience in test automation with Cypress.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript for writing and maintaining automation scripts.
- Solid understanding of QA concepts, test design, and defect lifecycle.
- Experience in web application testing, including functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Familiarity with API testing and validation of RESTful services.
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, DOM, and browser debugging tools.
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of source control tools like Git.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation execution in build environments.
- Experience with test reporting, defect tracking, and release validation.
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in production support or application support environments.
- Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
- Knowledge of SQL and database validation.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous testing.
