Role Description The Production Planning Control Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for overseeing end-to-end production planning and control activities. This role involves developing and maintaining production schedules, coordinating with manufacturing, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure optimal material availability, and monitoring capacity utilization across lines and equipment. The manager will analyze production data, track key performance indicators, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize inventory levels. Daily responsibilities include reviewing order forecasts, aligning plans with customer delivery timelines, resolving bottlenecks, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The role also requires preparing reports for leadership, supporting cross-functional coordination, and contributing to long-term planning strategies for the plant.
Qualifications
- Strong production planning capabilities, including experience with Production Planning and Production Schedules.
- Demonstrated expertise in Capacity Planning and load balancing across machines, lines, and shifts.
- Solid understanding of Inventory Control principles, including stock monitoring, reorder strategies, and material flow management.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills for interpreting production data, identifying trends, and driving process improvements.
- Experience in manufacturing or packaging industry, preferably plastics or FMCG, with exposure to high-volume production environments.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools; strong MS Excel skills are an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Production Management, Operations, or a related field; advanced certifications in production/operations management are beneficial.
- Effective communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead planning discussions.
- Proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced, on-site plant environment.
