Role Description The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production of wedding décor and design projects. This role manages the translation of design concepts into executable plans, coordinates with vendors and internal teams, supervises fabrication and installation, and ensures that all elements are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The Production Manager will create schedules, allocate resources, monitor progress on-site, and resolve operational issues during pre-production, setup, and wrap-up phases. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with designers and planners, conducting site visits, managing inventory and logistics, ensuring safety and compliance, and maintaining clear, professional communication with stakeholders. The role requires a hands-on approach during events, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak wedding seasons as needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in production management, event operations, or large-scale décor/fabrication projects, preferably within the wedding or events industry.
- Strong project planning and organizational skills, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret design briefs, floor plans, and technical requirements, and convert them into actionable production plans.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with designers, planners, clients, vendors, and on-ground teams.
- Proven capability to manage on-site teams, supervise installations, and troubleshoot issues under time pressure while maintaining quality standards.
- Comfort with working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, with flexibility for non-standard working hours during events.
- Basic proficiency with productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, scheduling software) and familiarity with inventory and logistics management.
- Relevant academic background in event management, production, hospitality, design, or a related field is beneficial; prior experience in Chennai or similar markets is a plus.
