Company Description Superfan.ng (SPNG) is an edtech learning platform focused on African languages and cultural knowledge. The product is a gamified, quiz-first app that tests deep understanding of African proverbs, traditions, rites of passage, festivals, folklore, and customs. Designed for Africans and the African diaspora, Superfan aims to make language and cultural learning engaging, accessible, and community-driven. The company blends education and entertainment to help learners connect with and preserve African heritage in a modern, digital format.
Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Product Manager at Superfan.ng (SPNG). The Product Manager will lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, including discovery, requirements gathering, prioritization, and execution for the Superfan app. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with design, engineering, content, and marketing teams to define product features, manage backlogs, and ensure timely delivery of updates. The role involves analyzing user data and feedback, running experiments, and iterating on product experiences to improve engagement, retention, and learning outcomes. The Product Manager will also help shape product strategy, align stakeholders on roadmaps, and ensure the platform reflects and serves the needs of African learners and the diaspora.
Qualifications
- Product management skills, including roadmap development, backlog prioritization, and stakeholder management.
- User research and data analysis skills to gather insights, validate hypotheses, and inform product decisions.
<liexperience working closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, design, content, and marketing.< li>
- Experience with digital consumer products, preferably in edtech, gaming, or learning platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear requirements.
- Comfort working in a remote, fast-paced environment with distributed teams and asynchronous communication.
- Familiarity with African languages and cultures, or a strong interest in African education and cultural preservation.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Product Management, Business, Computer Science, Education) or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience using product analytics and experimentation tools (e.g., A/B testing, funnels, cohort analysis) is a plus.
- Prior experience in startup environments or early-stage product development is beneficial.
