About Milk Studios
Milk Studios is building timeless everyday basics that don't feel basic.
We're obsessed with creating products that people genuinely love to wear—pieces that feel as good on their hundredth wear as they did on their first. We care deeply about fit, fabric, construction and the systems behind making great clothing.
We're looking for someone who wants to build products, not just design them.

About the role
This role sits at the intersection of design, product development and production.
You'll work closely with the founders, suppliers and factories to take a garment from an initial idea all the way through sampling, production, quality control and future reorders.
You'll own the details that make great products possible—patterns, grading, tech packs, revisions, documentation, communication and production follow-through.
Think of yourself as the bridge between our ideas and the factory floor.
What you'll be doingProduct Development
- Develop garments from concept through production.
- Create detailed technical sketches and factory-ready tech packs.
- Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Recommend fabrics, trims, and construction methods.
- Ensure products remain commercially viable while maintaining quality.
Pattern Making & Fit Development
- Create and modify garment patterns.
- Grade patterns across sizes.
- Work in CLO3D to visualise garments before sampling.
- Review fit samples and identify improvements.
- Translate fit comments into actionable pattern and specification changes.
Sampling & Production
- Coordinate sampling with factories.
- Track revisions across multiple sample rounds.
- Maintain version-controlled tech packs and measurement charts.
- Ensure factories are always working from the latest approved documents.
- Prepare garments for bulk production.
- Support production approvals and PP sample sign-offs.
Factory Communication
- Communicate technical revisions clearly and professionally.
- Resolve production issues with factories.
- Coordinate timelines, fabrics, trims and sampling.
- Follow up proactively to ensure deadlines are met.
- Escalate issues early when required.
Documentation & Operations
- Organise all product documentation in a structured and scalable manner.
- Maintain production folders, revision histories and approvals.
- Build systems that make it easy for anyone to understand the current status of every style.
- Help improve internal workflows between design, production and warehouse.
We're looking for someone who
- Loves product as much as design.
- Has exceptional attention to detail.
- Enjoys organising complex information.
- Thinks systematically rather than reactively.
- Is calm under pressure and solves problems proactively.
- Communicates clearly with both creative and technical teams.
- Takes ownership without needing constant supervision.
- Is excited by building better systems, not just following existing ones.
preferred skills
- Experience creating production-ready tech packs.
- Strong garment construction knowledge.
- Pattern making and grading experience.
- Proficiency in CLO3D.
- Understanding of garment fit and development.
- Knowledge of fabrics, trims and manufacturing processes.
- Experience working directly with apparel factories.
- Strong documentation and organisational skills.
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, spreadsheets and digital file management systems.
Bonus if you have experience with
- RichPeace, Gerber, Lectra or similar CAD software.
- Shopify or D2C apparel brands.
- Production planning.
- Quality control processes.
- ERP or PLM systems.
- Building operational workflows.
What success looks like
Within your first few months, we'd expect you to be able to:
- Independently manage a style from concept to production.
- Produce factory-ready tech packs with minimal revisions.
- Communicate confidently with factories.
- Identify fit and construction issues before they become production problems.
- Keep documentation organised, version-controlled and easy for anyone on the team to understand.
- Help us continuously improve the way we develop products.
Why join us?
You'll be joining at an early stage where your work will directly shape how Milk Studios builds products for years to come.
This isn't a role where you'll simply execute tasks. You'll help define the systems, processes, and standards that the company grows on.
- If you enjoy solving problems, building beautiful products and creating order from chaos, we'd love to hear from you.
