Job details:
Lead end-to-end procurement of raw materials (RM), packing materials (PM), and machinery required for food manufacturing operations.
• Develop and execute the sourcing strategy in line with production plans, quality standards, and cost targets.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors/suppliers; build a strong, reliable vendor base for RM, PM, and capital equipment.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service level agreements with suppliers to optimize cost without compromising quality.
• Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supply risks; proactively plan for price volatility and supply disruptions.
• Ensure timely procurement to avoid production downtime, while optimising inventory holding costs.
• Coordinate with Quality, Production, and R&D teams to ensure procured materials meet food safety and quality standards.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives, alternate vendor development, and value engineering across the procurement function.
• Ensure procurement processes comply with statutory, food safety (FSSAI), and internal audit requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor performance data, and MIS reporting for management review.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team, and build strong cross-functional coordination with Production, Packaging, and Finance.
