About the Role:
Khanal Foods looking for an experienced Manager – Milk Procurement to lead and manage daily milk procurement operations across assigned locations. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in milk/dairy procurement, supplier management, milk collection, quality, cost control, inventory planning, and procurement operations.
Candidates without prior Milk/Dairy Procurement experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage daily milk procurement as per business requirements and production demand.
- Develop and execute shift-wise milk procurement plans.
- Identify and develop potential milk procurement areas, villages, farmers, and suppliers.
- Manage relationships with milk suppliers, farmers, collection centers, and vendors.
- Monitor procurement in terms of quantity, quality, cost, and timelines.
- Ensure procurement is aligned with inventory levels and production requirements.
- Control excess procurement and minimize wastage or unnecessary inventory.
- Monitor milk quality and ensure procured milk meets the required standards.
- Negotiate procurement rates and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- Track milk prices, market trends, seasonal variations, and demand patterns.
- Forecast procurement requirements based on upcoming demand.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, and Operations teams.
- Monitor inventory and ensure proper planning of material requirements.
- Maintain accurate supplier databases, procurement records, purchase documentation, and reports.
- Prepare comparative cost estimates and evaluate supplier proposals.
- Track procurement KPIs and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper documentation for milk receiving, stock movement, and procurement activities.
- Lead and coordinate the procurement team to achieve daily and monthly targets.
- Travel to villages, milk collection points, suppliers, and procurement locations as required.
Mandatory Requirements:
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in Milk Procurement / Dairy Procurement.
- Milk/Dairy Industry experience is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of milk procurement, collection, quality, pricing, and supplier/farmer management.
- Experience in identifying and developing milk procurement areas and villages.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor/supplier management skills.
- Experience in managing procurement teams and daily procurement operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel.
- SAP knowledge is preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively for procurement activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Business Management, or a related field is preferred.
