Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based at the Mumbai plant for PPC and Quality Managers from the glass manufacturing and processing industry. The PPC (Production Planning and Control) responsibilities include planning daily and weekly production schedules, coordinating with procurement and manufacturing teams, tracking material availability, optimizing machine utilization, and monitoring adherence to delivery timelines. The Quality Management responsibilities involve establishing and implementing quality standards, supervising in-process and final inspections, analyzing defects and rejections, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with AIS and IS specifications as well as ISO 9001 requirements. The role also includes maintaining production and quality documentation, collaborating with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement, supporting audits, and guiding shop-floor teams on best practices in safety, process control, and product quality.
Qualifications
- Strong production planning and control capabilities, including scheduling, capacity planning, and coordination with manufacturing, maintenance, and logistics teams.
- Hands-on quality management experience in glass or related manufacturing, covering inspection methods, defect analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Knowledge of industry standards and systems such as AIS 037, IS 2553, ISO 9001, and familiarity with quality tools (e.g., SPC, 7 QC tools, FMEA, control plans).
- Proficiency in using ERP or production management software, MS Excel and related tools for reports, dashboards, and data-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and train production and quality teams, with strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field; prior experience in glass manufacturing or processing is highly preferred.
- Understanding of safety standards and shop-floor best practices, with a continuous improvement mindset and experience in lean manufacturing or process optimization considered an advantage.
