Job Description Parts Data Management Engineer
Job Title: Parts Data Management Engineer
Experience: 3 7 Years
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented
Parts Data Management Engineer with experience in engineering data classification, attribution, and large-scale data management. The ideal candidate should have expertise in handling engineering components, interpreting technical drawings, maintaining BOMs, and working with PLM systems. Knowledge of Python automation and manufacturing processes will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather technical data from engineering drawings and maintain structured databases using MS Excel.
- Classify and cleanse component attribute values in accordance with industry standards.
- Extract and validate attribute data from supplier catalogs and engineering documentation.
- Manage high volumes of engineering data, including customer, supplier, item, and pricing information.
- Ensure data is processed accurately, efficiently, and within defined timelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and maintain data management best practices.
- Create and maintain detailed work instructions and process documentation.
- Record and monitor daily operational metrics and data quality reports.
- Support automation initiatives using Python where applicable.
- Maintain engineering BOMs (EBOM) and manufacturing BOMs (MBOM).
Required Skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with mechanical component classification and attribute management.
- Good understanding of commodities such as:
- Castings
- Heat Exchangers
- Wire Harnesses
- Other Mechanical Components
- Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
- Hands-on experience with Creo for analyzing 3D models and drawings.
- Experience working with Engineering BOM (EBOM) and Manufacturing BOM (MBOM).
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Basic knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
- Experience in engineering data management and data governance.
- Basic Python programming knowledge for automation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in engineering data classification and attribution projects.
- Knowledge of large-scale engineering data migration and cleansing.
- Exposure to automation using Python.
- Familiarity with engineering standards and supplier catalog management.
- Experience working in manufacturing or product engineering environments.
