Role Description The Overseas Academic Counselor (Calicut) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kochi. The counselor will guide prospective learners through program selection, admission requirements, and application timelines for universities abroad. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, assessing academic profiles, explaining country-specific education systems, and recommending suitable courses and institutions. The counselor will assist with documentation, application submissions, and coordination with partner institutions and internal teams. The role also involves participating in information sessions, maintaining accurate records in counseling systems, and providing timely follow-up and support to learners and families throughout the admission process.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide effective Student Counseling and Career Counseling to individuals exploring overseas education options.
- Strong Academic Advising skills with a solid understanding of international Education systems and program structures.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear spoken and written English and the ability to explain complex information simply.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Management, or a related field.
- Prior experience in study abroad consulting, university admissions, or career guidance is highly beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and cultural sensitivity when working with diverse learners and families.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Kochi, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, CRM or counseling software, and familiarity with online application portals.
