Role Description As an Online English Mentor (UK Shift Timing) from 8:30 pm - 2:30 am (6 hours), you will provide live, interactive English language sessions to school-age learners in a remote, online classroom environment. You will plan and deliver lessons that focus on communication skills, grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing, using student-centric methods that encourage engagement and participation. Daily tasks include preparing learning materials, conducting assessments, giving constructive feedback, tracking student progress, and maintaining regular communication with learners and guardians as needed. You will adapt teaching strategies to different proficiency levels, support learners in building confidence in spoken and written English, and follow Codeyoung’s guidelines and schedules aligned with UK shift timings. This is a part-time remote role, requiring reliable internet access and the ability to work independently.
Qualifications
- Strong command of English language, including grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing, with clear and neutral spoken English.
- Experience in online teaching, tutoring, or mentoring, particularly with children or young learners.
- Ability to design or adapt engaging, student-centric lesson plans and activities for different proficiency levels.
- Comfort with digital tools and online classroom platforms, including video conferencing and interactive learning resources.
- Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills to support learners of diverse backgrounds.
- Reliable internet connection, suitable hardware (computer, headset, webcam), and a quiet environment for online classes.
- Availability to work part-time during UK shift timings and manage time effectively across multiple sessions.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field, and any relevant teaching or ESL certification.
