Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Metallurgical Lab Technician role based in Pune. The Metallurgical Lab Technician will prepare and test metal and material samples using standard laboratory methods, including mechanical testing, hardness testing, and metallographic examination. The role involves operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, recording observations, interpreting test results, and ensuring adherence to national and international testing standards.
The technician will also assist in chemical analysis, collaborate with senior technical staff to deliver accurate and timely reports, follow laboratory safety protocols, maintain clean and organized workspaces, and contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory procedures and quality systems.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Freshers are encouraged to apply. Candidates with up to 2 years of relevant laboratory experience are also welcome.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical testing, hardness testing, metallography, and chemical analysis will be preferred.
- Willingness to learn laboratory testing procedures, quality systems, and standard testing methods.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records and reports.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in a NABL-accredited or ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory will be an added advantage but is not mandatory.
