Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Clancy Global Building Consultancy to develop and design electrical systems, components, and products for a wide range of applications. You will be responsible for creating detailed electrical schematics, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and develop electrical systems for building services, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, emergency systems, and low-current systems.
· Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and other technical documents.
· Prepare load calculations, single-line diagrams, circuiting, panel schedules, and equipment sizing.
· Create and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, Altium, or similar).
· Perform load calculations, component selection, and safety analyses.
· Ensure designs meet regulatory, industry, and client specifications (e.g., IEC, NEC, UL, IEEE standards).
· Support prototyping, testing, and validation of electrical systems.
· Collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers to integrate electrical design with overall product architecture.
· Prepare technical documentation including design reports, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and user manuals.
· Troubleshoot design issues and recommend solutions or improvements.
· Liaise with suppliers and vendors to source electrical components and ensure compatibility with design.
· Assist in cost estimation, risk assessments, and project planning.
- Relevant Educational Background: A degree or certification in electrical engineering, electrical drafting, or a related field is beneficial.
- Previous Experience: Look for candidates with a proven track record in drafting electrical plans for projects similar to yours (residential, commercial, industrial, etc.).
Industry Certifications: Certifications in electrical drafting or engineering software (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) can be an added bonus.

Role Description The [MEP] Electrical Design Engineer will work on full-time, on-site assignments in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, contributing to the design and coordination of electrical systems for building services and infrastructure projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing electrical design concepts, performing load calculations, preparing single-line diagrams, layouts, and schematics, and selecting appropriate equipment in line with project specifications and local codes. The role involves collaborating closely with mechanical, plumbing, civil, and structural teams to ensure integrated MEP solutions, as well as reviewing drawings and documents from external stakeholders. The engineer will support preparation of technical reports and design documentation, participate in design reviews, and assist with resolving technical queries during construction. The position also requires staying current with relevant standards, energy-efficient technologies, and best practices in electrical building services engineering.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with practical experience in Electrical Design and Design Engineering for building services or similar projects.
- Knowledge of Electricity fundamentals and Power Distribution systems, including low-voltage distribution, panel boards, cable sizing, and protection schemes.
- Ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation using CAD or BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software).
- Familiarity with relevant national and international standards, building codes, and safety regulations related to electrical installations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline; advanced certifications in MEP design or sustainable building technologies are an advantage.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients, contractors, and other consultants.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and timely delivery of design outputs.
- Prior experience in consulting engineering, building services design, or infrastructure projects within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region or similar urban environments is beneficial.
