Role Description The Medical Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults with communication and swallowing disorders in a neurorehabilitation setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, delivering one-on-one and group therapy, and tracking progress using standardized outcome measures. The role involves close collaboration with neurologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure integrated care. The SLP will counsel patients and families, contribute to care conferences, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and participate in quality improvement and clinical research initiatives as appropriate. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Bengaluru.
Qualifications
- Ability to assess and treat a range of communication disorders, including Speech, Communication Disorders, and Language Disorders.
- Strong clinical skills in Speech Therapy, with experience managing Dysphagia and related swallowing difficulties.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent from a recognized institution; valid professional licensure/registration as required by local regulations.
- Experience working with neurological populations (e.g., stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury) in medical or rehabilitation settings.
- Proficiency in evidence-based practice, use of standardized assessment tools, and development of measurable treatment goals.
- Effective interdisciplinary teamwork, patient and family education skills, and clear written and verbal communication.
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities, including use of electronic health records.
- Basic proficiency in relevant local languages (in addition to English) and cultural sensitivity in patient interactions.
- Willingness to engage in continuing professional development, training, and participation in research or innovative clinical programs.
