Role Description The Medical Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based at Krishna Multi Speciality Surgical Hospital ICU and Trauma Centre in Ahmedabad. The Medical Officer will provide comprehensive medical care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical management in coordination with senior consultants and surgeons. Responsibilities include monitoring patients in wards and ICU, managing emergencies and trauma cases, documenting clinical notes, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and national clinical guidelines. The role involves active participation in pre- and post-operative patient care, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting quality improvement and infection control initiatives. The Medical Officer will also contribute to patient education, clinical training activities, and effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine, including clinical examination, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment.
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality Patient Care, including empathy, safety, and clear communication.
- Experience or interest in Surgery support, including pre-operative preparation, intra-operative assistance as required, and post-operative management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Physicians and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced hospital and ICU setting.
- Experience in Training activities such as case discussions, clinical presentations, or mentoring junior staff is an advantage.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with valid registration from the appropriate medical council.
- Previous experience in hospital-based practice, emergency medicine, critical care, or trauma care is preferred.
- Good documentation skills, familiarity with hospital information systems, and willingness to follow NABH and other regulatory standards.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call duties as required.
- Proficiency in English and local languages for effective communication with patients and colleagues.
