Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineer role located in Kolkata. The MEP Engineer will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and coordinating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for residential and commercial projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and checking drawings, specifications, and calculations; ensuring compliance with local codes and standards; and coordinating with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and vendors. The role involves conducting site inspections, monitoring installation quality, resolving technical issues, and optimizing systems for safety, efficiency, and sustainability. The engineer will also support project planning, cost estimation, and value engineering for building services.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) and Building Services skills, including system design and integration for multi-storey buildings.
- Candidates should possess practical Plumbing skills, including layout design, pipe sizing, water supply, drainage systems, and fixture selection.
- Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering skills, including load calculations, power distribution, lighting design, panel schedules, and safety systems.
- Candidates should possess MEP Coordination skills, including clash detection, interdisciplinary coordination, and collaboration with project teams and contractors.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or related discipline).
- Experience in real estate, construction, or building services projects, preferably in residential or commercial developments.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, and familiarity with drawings, specifications, and documentation practices.
- Proficiency in design and coordination tools (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, or similar) and basic project management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site.
