Mechanical Design Engineer – SolidWorks & Medical Devices
Location: Vasai East, Mumbai

AVI Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with 1–5 years of hands-on experience in 3D modelling and mechanical design using SolidWorks. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing detailed part and assembly drawings, understanding engineering tolerances, and supporting the design and manufacturing of medical devices. Knowledge of CNC machining and metal fabrication processes will be an advantage.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Design Engineer role based in Vasai, Mumbai. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing 3D models and preparing detailed assembly, part, technical, and production drawings using SolidWorks. Responsibilities include preparing Bills of Material (BOM) for production, developing and executing prototypes based on approved specifications, and maintaining detailed documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards. The role involves coordinating closely with production, R&D, customer service, and marketing teams for any drawing changes, as well as investigating opportunities for product improvements. Additionally, the engineer will work directly with the production team to execute designs for metal fabrication (including laser cutting, CNC bending, and CNC lathe operations) and will consult with fabrication teams, providing physical assistance during the manufacturing process.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in 3D mechanical design and modeling using SolidWorks.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and preparation of detailed part and assembly drawings, along with familiarity with AutoCAD.
- Candidates should possess a strong understanding of engineering drawings, limits, fits, tolerances, and welding symbols.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of mechanical design principles, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with CNC machining and metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, CNC metal bending, and CNC lathe operations.
- Candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities, excellent time management, and the ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related engineering field; experience in medical device design or manufacturing is an advantage.
