The Marketing Operations & Strategic Initiatives Lead serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Marketing Officer and Marketing leadership team, translating priorities into disciplined operating rhythms, actionable insights, and measurable business outcomes. This role leads marketing performance reporting and insights, the monthly business review cadence, CMO Office strategic initiatives, executive communications, NPS and client-experience initiatives, and enterprise storytelling that demonstrates Marketing’s value. Working across Marketing, Finance, Analytics, Sales, Product, Operations, and executive stakeholders, this leader creates visibility, alignment, and accountability while advancing high-priority initiatives from strategy through execution.

Key Responsibilities
Marketing Performance Reporting & Insights
- Own the end-to-end marketing performance reporting process, coordinating due dates, soliciting inputs from leaders, and refining content into clear, executive-ready reporting decks and summaries.
- Partner with Marketing leadership to validate data quality, reconcile performance measures, and maintain trusted sources of truth.
- Synthesize campaign, pipeline, customer, financial, and operational data into insights, trends, risks, and recommendations for leadership action.
- Evolve measurement practices that connect Marketing’s activity to growth, customer engagement, efficiency, and financial impact.
Monthly Business Reviews & Operating Rhythm
- Manage the end-to-end monthly business review schedule, including templates, data deadlines, contributor inputs, working sessions, quality review, approvals, and final distribution.
- Shape executive-ready narratives that highlight performance, business impact, key initiatives, emerging risks, decisions required, and forward-looking priorities.
- Maintain an integrated reporting calendar across monthly, quarterly, and annual leadership forums to reduce duplication and improve consistency.
- Drive follow-through on decisions and action items, escalating gaps and dependencies when needed.
CMO Office Strategic Initiatives
- Lead high-priority, cross-functional initiatives sponsored by the CMO, from initial framing and business case development through execution, measurement, and transition to business ownership.
- Establish charters, workplans, governance, decision rights, milestones, success measures, and executive reporting for each initiative.
- Coordinate stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, Product, Sales, Technology, Operations, and enterprise partners to resolve issues and maintain momentum.
- Anticipate risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs; provide clear recommendations that enable timely executive decisions.
Executive Communications & Leadership Enablement
- Develop executive communications on behalf of the CMO Office, including leadership updates, talking points, briefing materials, presentations, town hall content, and strategic messages.
- Translate complex performance, customer, and strategic information into concise, audience-specific narratives with clear implications and calls to action.
- Prepare leaders for high-visibility forums through message development, briefing documents, anticipated questions, and alignment across contributors.
- Maintain consistency in how Marketing’s strategy, priorities, performance, and value are communicated internally and across the enterprise.
NPS, Client Experience & Action Planning
- Coordinate NPS and voice-of-customer initiatives, including measurement strategy, governance, leadership reporting, and cross-functional improvement plans.
- Partner with business and customer-facing teams to strengthen accountability and elevate client-centered decision-making.
Marketing Value, Impact Storytelling & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Build a consistent, evidence-based narrative that demonstrates Marketing’s contribution to growth, customer engagement, brand strength, innovation, and operational efficiency.
- Curate proof points such as business outcomes, customer stories, campaign results, pipeline influence, financial impact, and productivity gains for executive and enterprise audiences.
- Partner with Marketing leaders and functional experts to improve attribution, strengthen business cases, and identify opportunities to increase impact.
- Serve as a trusted liaison across Marketing, Finance, Analytics, Sales, Product, Technology, and Operations, aligning contributors around shared outcomes and deadlines.
Culture & Employee Engagement
- Partner with Marketing leaders to shape and execute culture and employee-engagement initiatives that reinforce organizational priorities, strengthen connection, and foster an inclusive, high-performing environment.
- Develop communications, recognition programs, leadership forums, and feedback mechanisms that increase transparency, celebrate contributions, and translate employee insights into measurable actions.
Leadership Scope & Accountability
- Operates with significant visibility and autonomy as a strategic partner to the CMO and senior Marketing leaders.
- Leads through influence, governance, facilitation, and clear operating mechanisms across multiple functions and levels.
- Owns the quality, timeliness, and strategic usefulness of executive reporting, communications, and assigned initiatives.
- Makes recommendations with potential to influence Marketing priorities, investments, customer-experience actions, and enterprise perceptions of Marketing’s value.
Qualifications & Experience
- 17+ years of experience in marketing operations, marketing strategy, business operations, analytics, executive communications, strategic initiatives, consulting, or a CMO/Chief of Staff environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing recurring executive reporting or monthly business review processes in a complex organization.
- Strong analytical judgment and ability to convert data into insights, recommendations, and compelling business narratives.
- Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives with clear governance, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
- Exceptional executive writing, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience with NPS, voice-of-customer programs, marketing measurement, attribution, dashboards, or performance management strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, competing deadlines, sensitive information, and high-visibility executive deliverables with sound judgment.
