ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Pind Unilever Limited (PUL) is India's largest fast-moving consumer goods company, part of the Unilever group, with a portfolio spanning Home Care, Beauty & Wellbeing, Personal Care, and Foods & Refreshment. PUL products reach the majority of Indian households through one of the country's largest distribution networks, spanning urban metros to rural markets. The Marketing function is widely regarded as one of the strongest brand-building schools in Indian industry, having trained generations of FMCG and consumer-business leaders.
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME & ROLE PURPOSE
The Pind Future Leaders Programme (Marketing) is PUL's flagship management-trainee route into brand and category leadership. Trainees are placed on live brands from day one, owning a measurable piece of brand P&L, go-to-market execution, and consumer strategy under the guidance of a Brand Manager mentor. The role is built to convert strategic marketing frameworks learned in the classroom into in-market decisions - pricing, media mix, channel activation, and innovation - within a fast-moving FMCG portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Brand & Category Strategy: Support annual brand plans - consumer/market insight generation, competitive tracking, and portfolio/pricing recommendations.
- Go-to-Market Execution: Own execution of campaign launches and in-store activation plans in partnership with sales, supply chain, and creative/media agencies.
- Consumer & Data Insight: Translate research, digital analytics, and sales-out data into actionable briefs for brand and media decisions.
- Rural / GTM Immersion: Complete a field posting in distribution/sales to build ground-level understanding of the route-to-market before returning to brand role.
- Digital & Performance Marketing: Manage media briefs across digital platforms; track ROI, reach, and funnel metrics against brand KPIs.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work cross-functionally with Sales, R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, and external agency partners to deliver integrated campaigns.
- Innovation Support: Assist in new product development / renovation projects from concept testing through launch readiness.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Full-time PGDM/MBA (Class of 2027) from a top-tier B-school, with Marketing as the chosen major/elective specialisation.
- Prior undergraduate degree in any discipline; engineering or commerce background preferred but not mandatory.
- 0-3 years of pre-MBA work experience; FMCG, sales, or consulting exposure viewed favourably.
- Demonstrated extracurricular leadership - case competitions, live projects, marketing clubs, or start-up ventures.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Analytical & quantitative skills — comfortable working with sales, market-share, and research data; proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication — able to build a clear, persuasive brand narrative for both internal and agency audiences.
- Creative and conceptual thinking — able to evaluate and shape brand communication, not just execute a brief.
- Structured problem-solving — breaks down ambiguous business questions into a logical, data-backed recommendation.
- Digital marketing fluency — working familiarity with social/digital platforms, media metrics, and e-commerce/quick-commerce channels.
- Collaboration & cross-functional coordination — comfortable driving outcomes through Sales, Supply Chain, R&D, and external agency partners.
- Adaptability & learning agility — able to operate across market/office settings and pick up new categories or geographies quickly.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Base location: Mumbai head office, with a mandatory 4–6 month field posting in a rural/semi-urban market as part of the GTM immersion — this involves relocation, local travel, and market-facing work outside a standard office setting.
- Standard corporate work week, with flexibility expected around campaign launches, market visits, and agency/vendor deadlines.
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven FMCG environment with frequent cross-functional meetings and tight turnaround cycles.
- Periodic domestic travel for market visits, trade/retail audits, and consumer research fieldwork.
- Hybrid exposure to office-based brand work and on-ground/retail environments, particularly during the rural immersion phase.
