Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai for a Manager – Custom Clearance with experience in exports and imports. The role involves overseeing end-to-end customs clearance processes for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation requirements. The Manager will coordinate with customs authorities, shipping lines, transporters, and clients to resolve queries, manage documentation, and ensure timely cargo movement. Daily tasks include reviewing and filing customs documents, monitoring shipment status, addressing operational issues, and maintaining accurate records and reports. The role also includes guiding and supervising the customs operations team, optimizing processes, and supporting clients with expert advice on import-export procedures and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in customs operations, including Customs Brokerage and end-to-end Custom Clearance management.
- Hands-on experience in Export and Import documentation, procedures, and compliance.
- Proficiency in handling Import Export regulations, HS codes, duty structures, and trade documentation.
- Effective Communication skills for coordinating with clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
- Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in a managerial capacity.
- Sound knowledge of Indian customs laws, port procedures, and digital customs systems (e.g., ICEGATE).
- Ability to lead teams, manage multiple shipments, and work accurately under time-sensitive conditions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certifications in customs or logistics are an advantage.
