AdvantEdge Founders is an early stage venture capital fund focused on mobility and the technologies and infrastructure around it. Over the last 10 years, we have established ourselves as the country’s leading mobility-focused VC firm, and have backed startups such as Rapido, Exponent Energy, Moonrider, Zeno Moto, Zingbus and Park+, among others.
We invest at pre-seed and seed across electric vehicles, aerial mobility, space and aerospace, defence and the energy transition, and we are currently investing from our third fund.
Role Description
We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join us in Bengaluru. The analyst will work directly with the Partners of the fund and will be key to running our Bengaluru office. They will be involved across the full life of a deal, from sourcing and first meetings through research, diligence and investment committee decisions. Over time, you will also be instrumental in helping us chart out our AI in Mobility thesis, a wide-ranging area where we are actively deepening our work.
This is not a desk job. You will run a live deal pipeline, meet founders every week, produce the research our investment decisions rest on, and help build the fund's presence in Bengaluru through our events and ecosystem relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal sourcing and expansion of dealflow: outbound research on companies and founders in our focus sectors, coordinating our scout network, and covering the city's demo days and incubator showcases.
- Screening and assessment of companies: first conversations with founders, written screen notes, and clear recommendations against our evaluation framework.
- Primary and secondary research on startups, technologies and industries, contributing to the sector theses that guide our investing, including AI in Mobility, Aerospace, Space & Defence and Energy Transition.
- Preparation of company dossiers, sector reports, financial analysis and drafts of investment committee notes.
- Pipeline operations: keeping our CRM current, tracking every application and meeting, and making sure founders hear back from us quickly.
- Helping produce our founder and ecosystem events in Bengaluru and strengthening our relationships with incubators, research institutions and co-investors.
- Working with the AI tools that run our internal processes, and improving them with use.
Who Should Apply
Ideal candidates meet the following requirements:
- 2 to 4 years of experience in startup roles that involved building, working with or researching technical or AI systems in areas such as automotive, autonomy, robotics, intelligent manufacturing, defence and energy systems.
- Have a technical bent, with the ability to read, understand and evaluate highly technical material, while also being able to grasp market maps and dynamics.
- Strong writing skills. Screen notes, research and founder communications will pass through you first, and we care about clear, simple, well-sourced writing.
- Networked in Bengaluru's technology ecosystem as well as other proprietary ecosystems (university, incubators, founders clubs, etc), or clear evidence of being able to build such a network quickly.
- Comfortable using AI tools as part of everyday work. Our internal processes require this.
- Passionate about the Indian startup ecosystem, and genuinely curious about mobility, energy, autonomy and defence.
- High ownership. This is a small office. You will represent the fund on your own, and the work you produce will be used in key fund operations.

FAQs
Do I need prior venture capital or finance experience?
No. We are hiring for domain understanding, judgment and writing. The investing function can be learned here.
Do I need to be based in Bengaluru?
Yes. The role is based in Bengaluru, and much of the work happens in person: founder meetings, events and diligence visits.
I have worked deeply in mobility but do not have a formal AI background, or the other way around. Should I apply?
Yes. We are looking for the intersection, but strong depth on one side with real fluency on the other is a good starting point.
Will I work on investments directly?
Yes. You will be involved through the life of live transactions, and your notes and recommendations will be part of how decisions are made.
