Role: International Business Development Manager-GCC Hospital Partnerships
Job Description:BorderPlus is a Mumbai-based cross-border healthcare staffing platform backed by Owl Ventures, solving one of healthcare's most persistent problems: hospitals worldwide are short of qualified nurses, while large pools of trained nursing talent in countries like India, Uzbekistan, and Brazil have limited pathways to work abroad. BorderPlus manages the entire journey end-to-end sourcing and screening candidates, licensing and credentialing (DataFlow, Prometric, SCFHS), language and clinical readiness training, visa and relocation logistics, and post-placement support. Our Germany vertical has already placed 750+ nurses with hospital partners, and we are now scaling the same model into the GCC, with active sourcing corridors from India, Uzbekistan, and Brazil, and signed hospital partnerships already in place across the region. We're looking for a Mumbai-based Business Development Manager who is willing to travel extensively to the Gulf (1015 days a month) to build and manage hospital relationships on our behalf.
Role Purpose:Act as BorderPlus's traveling representative to the Gulf, making regular trips from Mumbai to visit hospitals directly, open new relationships, convert them into signed nurse-supply contracts, and manage those accounts through onboarding and delivery. This is a high-travel, relationship-driven role. Success is measured in signed hospital contracts, not just meetings booked.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and map target hospitals and hospital groups across Gulf markets (Saudi Arabia, UAE & others) with nurse hiring needs from overseas corridors.
- Travel to the Gulf on a recurring basis (approx. 10-15 days/month) to meet hospital HR, CNO/Nursing Directors, and procurement/BD teams in person.
- Own the deal cycle end-to-end: first meeting proposal commercial negotiation contract signature.
- Coordinate closely with BorderPlus's India-based GCC team on candidate availability, sourcing timelines, and credentialing requirements (DataFlow, Prometric, SCFHS).
- Maintain a live pipeline of hospital leads, meeting notes, and contract status, shared weekly with the GCC Lead.
- Plan and manage travel itineraries across multiple Gulf countries efficiently, maximizing hospital visits per trip.
- Represent BorderPlus at relevant healthcare, HR, and staffing events/conferences across the Gulf region.
- Support renewal and expansion conversations with hospitals already under contract.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- 3+ years of business development or key account management experience in healthcare staffing, manpower/recruitment services, or medical workforce solutions, ideally with Gulf market exposure.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently 10–15 days a month to Gulf countries — as a core, ongoing part of the role.
- Existing relationships with hospital HR, procurement, or nursing leadership in Saudi Arabia, UAE, or other Gulf countries are a strong plus.
- Understanding of overseas nurse recruitment, credentialing, or manpower licensing in the Gulf is a strong plus (DataFlow, Prometric, SCFHS, Ministry of Labour requirements).
- Strong in-person relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Valid passport with no travel restrictions; prior experience frequently traveling internationally for work preferred.
