Role Description The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee day-to-day operations of the interior contracting business, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for managing project execution teams, vendor relationships, and resource planning across multiple sites. The COO will collaborate with senior leadership on business strategy, drive process improvements, and enforce compliance with ISO standards, safety norms, and company policies. Key responsibilities include monitoring operational KPIs, optimizing workflows, coordinating with design, procurement, and finance functions, and maintaining strong client relationships for repeat and referral business. The role also involves leading and mentoring managers, supporting business development efforts, and representing the company in high-level client and stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications
- Strong operations and project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and multi-site coordination.
- Experience in interior contracting, construction, fit-outs, or related industries, with knowledge of civil, MEP, and finishing activities.
- Leadership and people management capabilities, including team building, mentoring, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Business and financial acumen, covering cost control, contract management, vendor negotiation, and execution of strategic initiatives.
- Client relationship and communication skills, including stakeholder management, presentation abilities, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, quality assurance practices, safety regulations, and compliance requirements in project execution.
- Proficiency with project management tools and MS Office; exposure to ERP or construction management software is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
