Job Title: Assistant Ink Chemist
📍 Location: Por, Vadodara

🎓 Qualification: B.Sc. (Chemistry) / Diploma in Printing, Plastics, or IIP
💰 CTC: Up to ₹40,000 per month
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Assistant Ink Chemist to support ink formulation and quality control for Roto Gravure printing operations in the flexible packaging industry. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in solvent-based inks, color matching, viscosity control, and print quality management to ensure consistent print quality and smooth production.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and mix solvent-based inks for Roto Gravure printing as per production requirements.
- Assist in color matching and shade development based on customer artwork and specifications.
- Monitor and maintain ink viscosity, density, and consistency during printing operations.
- Troubleshoot ink-related print defects such as shade variation, pinholes, poor adhesion, and print inconsistencies.
- Maintain records of ink formulations, shade cards, and production batches.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and safe handling of inks and solvents.
- Coordinate with printing operators and the production team to ensure uninterrupted ink supply.
- Monitor ink consumption and support initiatives to minimize wastage.
- Follow quality standards, SOPs, and safety guidelines related to ink chemicals and solvents.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the Ink Kitchen.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of solvent-based inks used in Gravure printing.
- Strong understanding of color matching and shade control.
- Experience in ink viscosity, density, and solvent management.
- Ability to identify and resolve common gravure printing defects.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Knowledge of chemical handling and workplace safety.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the Flexible Packaging, Printing, or Packaging Manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience in Roto Gravure printing ink preparation and handling.
- Exposure to BRCGS, ISO, or similar quality management systems.
- Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period will be preferred.
