Infrastructure Support Engineer – L2/L3

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Support Engineer – L2/L3 to provide advanced technical and operational support for enterprise customer environments.
The role covers Microsoft infrastructure, Microsoft 365, identity and access management, virtualisation, backup and recovery, cloud services, and hybrid infrastructure. The successful candidate will be technically strong, customer-focused, and capable of taking full ownership of incidents from initial investigation through resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 infrastructure support and resolve incidents within agreed service-level agreements.
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments.
- Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related Microsoft infrastructure services.
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 services.
- Support Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, licensing, authentication, mail flow, and hybrid identity issues.
- Support VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
- Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and perform data and system restorations using Veeam, Commvault, Acronis, or similar platforms.
- Perform server health checks, patch management, capacity monitoring, and preventive maintenance.
- Support infrastructure migrations, upgrades, configuration changes, and disaster-recovery activities.
- Coordinate with NOC, SOC, network, cloud, application, and vendor teams during complex incidents.
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide timely ticket updates.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, troubleshooting records, and knowledge-base articles.
- Identify recurring incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend permanent corrective actions.
- Participate in planned maintenance and emergency support activities outside regular working hours when required.
Required Skills and Experience
- 4–8 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Good knowledge of Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
- Experience supporting VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Experience with enterprise backup, restoration, and disaster-recovery solutions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, remote-management, and ticketing platforms.
- Basic PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Understanding of incident, problem, change, and service-request management practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer-communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Conditional Access, and multifactor authentication.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Defender and identity-security solutions.
- Experience with enterprise storage, SAN, and NAS technologies.
- Basic Linux administration experience.
- Knowledge of high availability, failover clustering, and disaster recovery.
- Relevant Microsoft, VMware, backup, cloud, or ITIL certifications.
- Previous experience working with an MSP, systems integrator, NOC, or customer-support organisation.
