HR Head – Manufacturing Plant (Pithampur)

Role Summary
The HR Head will lead the complete Human Resources function for Alankaram’s manufacturing operations at Pithampur and support organizational scale-up across factory, corporate, and showroom teams.
This role requires a strong combination of:
- factory HR operations,
- labour law compliance,
- industrial relations,
- talent management,
- culture building,
- performance systems,
- and leadership capability.
The ideal candidate must be capable of building a disciplined yet people-first organization while supporting Alankaram’s transition into a professionally managed premium manufacturing company.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Organization Building
- Build and strengthen HR systems, processes, and policies aligned with business growth.
- Drive organizational structure planning, manpower planning, and workforce productivity.
- Partner with leadership on long-term people strategy and succession planning.
- Support the company’s scale-up from current operations toward future multi-location expansion.
2. Manufacturing HR Operations
- Lead end-to-end HR operations for the Pithampur manufacturing facility.
- Ensure smooth management of:
- attendance,
- payroll inputs,
- leave management,
- contract labour,
- onboarding,
- employee records,
- shift coordination,
- statutory registers.
- Supervise HR Generalist and plant HR/admin teams.
3. Labour Law & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with:
- Factories Act,
- Industrial Disputes Act,
- Shops & Establishment,
- PF,
- ESIC,
- Gratuity,
- Bonus,
- CLRA,
- POSH,
- labour welfare requirements.
- Coordinate inspections, audits, documentation, and legal notices.
- Maintain HR documentation discipline and audit readiness.
4. Industrial Relations & Workforce Management
- Handle worker grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
- Build strong shop-floor relationships and maintain workforce stability.
- Prevent and proactively manage industrial relations risks.
- Drive employee engagement, welfare, communication, and retention initiatives.
5. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Lead hiring across:
- factory workforce,
- supervisors,
- designers,
- sales/showroom staff,
- managers,
- leadership positions.
- Build recruitment partnerships with institutes and industry networks.
- Improve hiring quality, onboarding experience, and retention outcomes.
6. Performance Management & Culture
- Drive implementation of:
- KPIs,
- PMS,
- appraisal cycles,
- performance reviews,
- PIPs,
- manager capability building.
- Help establish a high-performance yet fair and respectful work culture.
- Coach managers on people leadership and team management.
7. Training & Capability Development
- Build structured training systems for:
- induction,
- machine safety,
- POSH,
- behavioural skills,
- leadership development,
- supervisory capability.
- Drive skill development initiatives for factory workforce.
8. Compensation & HR Systems
- Support compensation benchmarking and incentive structures.
- Improve HR analytics and reporting systems.
- Help implement and strengthen HRMS and people data systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
- 15–18 years of HR experience.
- Minimum 5+ years leading HR for a manufacturing plant.
- Strong exposure to factory HR and industrial relations is mandatory.
- Experience in furniture, manufacturing, engineering, consumer products, retail, or allied industries preferred.
Education
- MBA / PGDM in HR preferred.
- Additional labour law qualifications are an advantage.
