About the Role
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who likes owning outcomes, not just tickets. You will start by taking over a live production projects, learning the system, keeping it running, and fixing issues. You will also be the team's technical face in Chennai, meeting client teams in person to understand their needs and resolve problems. Over time, you will build quick proofs of concept for new opportunities with government and enterprise clients, and may work on new software products for the pharma industry. You will work closely with a senior technical lead and the founders, with plenty of room to learn new technologies, including AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a live web platform, including maintenance, bug fixes, enhancements and releases.
- Meet client stakeholders in person in Chennai to gather requirements, explain technical issues and agree on solutions.
- Identify dependencies, reach out to the right people and drive tasks to closure.
- Build quick proofs of concept that show value to new clients and support the team's pitches.
- Contribute to new software projects and products, including AI-enabled tools for the pharma industry.
- Manage and fix third-party integrations such as SMS gateways, helpdesk tools and other external services.
- Pick up new languages, frameworks and tools as projects require.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on software development experience.
- Has built and shipped at least one web or mobile application to production and supported it after launch.
- Working knowledge of at least one modern web stack, along with databases, APIs and deployment.
- Experience owning a module, integration or small project end to end.
- Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders, both in writing and in person.
- Based in Chennai and comfortable travelling within the city for client meetings.
- Integrated and debugged external services such as SMS gateways, helpdesk tools or other third-party APIs.
- Worked directly with clients or non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and explain technical issues.
