Role Description The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to ensure clean, well-maintained, and welcoming guest rooms and public areas. This full-time, on-site role is based at The Westin Chennai Velachery in Chennai and involves supervising housekeeping team, scheduling staff, and monitoring productivity and quality standards. The role includes training and coaching team members, conducting inspections, managing inventory and supplies, and ensuring compliance with hotel brand standards and safety procedures. The Housekeeping Manager collaborates closely with Front Office and other departments to address guest requests, resolve service issues, and support smooth daily operations. The position also requires participation in hiring processes, maintaining documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in cleanliness, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, performance monitoring, and staff scheduling.
- Candidates should possess practical knowledge of housekeeping operations and laundry processes, including equipment use and linen management.
- Candidates should possess excellent customer service and communication skills to interact professionally with guests and team members.
- Candidates should possess experience with hiring and onboarding, including interviewing, selection, and training of housekeeping staff.
- Candidates should possess strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on quality standards.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols in a hospitality environment.
- Candidates should possess prior experience in hotel or resort housekeeping management; experience in upscale or branded properties is an advantage.
- Candidates should possess basic computer skills for reports, inventory tracking, and internal communication; a hospitality-related diploma or degree is preferred.
