Role Description The Area Sales Manager (ASM) – Cardio-Diabetic Division will oversee sales operations and business development for cardio-diabetic products in the Bengaluru territory. This full-time, on-site role involves managing and guiding a team of sales representatives, planning and executing territory-wise sales strategies, and meeting revenue and growth targets. The ASM will regularly visit healthcare professionals and institutions to build strong relationships, promote products, and ensure effective brand positioning. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring market trends and competitor activities, conducting fieldwork and joint calls with team members, reviewing performance data, and preparing sales reports for management. The role also includes supporting new product launches, organizing promotional activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical sales, preferably within the cardio-diabetic segment or chronic therapy areas.
- Strong territory management and field sales skills, including planning, execution, and tracking of sales activities.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a sales team, with experience in coaching, performance review, and target achievement.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with doctors, hospitals, and key healthcare stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of pharma market dynamics, prescription generation, and ethical promotion practices.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English and local languages.
- Comfort with using basic digital tools (CRM, Excel, email, reporting systems) to manage data and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; an MBA in Marketing or Healthcare Management is an added advantage.
- Ability to work in the field extensively within Bengaluru, with strong time management and self-organization skills.
- Prior experience as Medical Representative and/or Area Sales Manager in pharma with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
