Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Head of Engineering Department role based in Vasai. The Head of Engineering will lead and manage the engineering function across manufacturing and R&D sites, ensuring reliable plant operations, safety, and compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Daily responsibilities include overseeing project engineering activities, planning and executing capital and maintenance projects, and coordinating civil and construction work related to facility expansion or upgrades. The role will involve managing engineering teams, setting performance objectives, optimizing resources, and collaborating with production, quality, and regulatory teams to support continuous improvement. The Head of Engineering will also be responsible for vendor management, budgeting, risk assessment, and implementing best practices in engineering management to support the company’s long-term growth.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Engineering Management skills, including team leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder coordination.
- Candidates should possess Project Management and Project Engineering skills to plan, execute, and monitor capital and maintenance projects within time and budget.
- Candidates should possess Civil Engineering skills related to plant infrastructure, utilities, and structural work.
- Candidates should possess Construction-related skills for supervising construction activities, contractor management, and adherence to safety standards.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or related field) from a recognized institution.
- Significant experience leading engineering functions in manufacturing or process industries; pharmaceutical or chemical sector experience is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, and engineering standards applicable to pharmaceutical facilities.
- Proficiency in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and use of relevant engineering and project management software.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
