Role Description The Head of Engineering is a full-time, on-site role based in Canada, responsible for leading the technical vision and execution of Esse India’s digital products and platforms. This role includes overseeing software development teams, setting engineering standards, and ensuring robust, scalable, and secure systems that support immigration and visa consulting services. Day-to-day responsibilities involve managing engineering projects, coordinating with product and business stakeholders, prioritizing roadmaps, and driving continuous improvement in development practices. The Head of Engineering will mentor team members, optimize workflows, and ensure timely delivery of features and enhancements. The role also requires collaboration with leadership to align technology initiatives with business goals and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Team Management and Team Leadership skills to guide, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams.
- Engineering Management experience to define technical strategy, set standards, and oversee system architecture and implementation.
- Project Management capabilities to plan, prioritize, and deliver complex initiatives on time and within scope.
- Software Development expertise with strong knowledge of modern technologies, development frameworks, and best practices.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including product, operations, and senior management.
- Experience building secure, scalable, and reliable platforms, ideally in service-oriented or consulting businesses.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong communication skills, analytical mindset, and a track record of data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with compliance, data privacy, or regulated environments is an advantage.
