Role Description The Head – Electrical and Instrumentation is a full-time, on-site role based at the Jodhpur facility. This position leads all electrical and instrumentation activities across the plant, including planning, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment and control systems. The role involves overseeing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal downtime for production lines, and coordinating with operations and mechanical teams for smooth plant functioning. Responsibilities include managing power distribution, PLCs, control panels, instrumentation calibration, and automation systems, while ensuring compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental regulations. The Head – Electrical and Instrumentation also supervises the E&I team, manages vendors and contractors, optimizes energy usage, and supports continuous improvement projects and new plant or equipment commissioning.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motor control centers, panels, and plant wiring.
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation and control systems such as sensors, transmitters, PLCs, SCADA, and calibration of field instruments.
- Proficiency in preventive and breakdown maintenance planning, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement for E&I equipment.
- Knowledge of chemical process plants, utilities (boilers, chillers, compressors), and integration of E&I systems with production operations.
- Familiarity with safety standards, statutory electrical regulations, and best practices in hazardous chemical environments.
- Ability to lead and develop a technical team, coordinate with cross-functional departments, and manage contractors and vendors.
- Comfort with basic documentation, maintenance records, work permits, and use of maintenance management or ERP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in a chemical or process manufacturing plant, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and readiness to work on-site in a shift or extended-hour environment as required.
