ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for an experienced Head – Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to lead our inspection and quality assurance functions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in NDT techniques, welding inspection, dimensional inspection, customer audits, and international quality standards for steel castings.
This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring that all inspection activities meet customer specifications, statutory requirements, and global quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
✔ Lead and manage all NDT activities, including:
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Visual Testing (VT)
- Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
- Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT)
✔ Plan inspections based on casting criticality and customer specifications.
✔ Control and maintain:
- WPS & WPQR documentation
- Welder qualification records
- Compliance with ASME Section IX
✔ Lead weld repair inspection and welding quality activities.
✔ Perform and oversee dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.
✔ Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and machining allowances.
✔ Ensure compliance with ASTM, ASME, ISO, EN, and customer-specific standards.
✔ Manage calibration and maintenance of NDT and dimensional inspection equipment.
✔ Support quality improvement through:
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Defect trend analysis
✔ Maintain complete inspection documentation and traceability.
✔ Lead customer inspections, third-party audits, NCR closure, and quality compliance initiatives.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- ASNT Level II Certification (Mandatory)
- Strong knowledge of ASME Section IX
- Expertise in UT, VT, MPI, RT & DPT
- Excellent drawing, reading, and GD&T interpretation
- Welding inspection and repair knowledge
INDUSTRY EXPOSURE:
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
- Carbon Steel Castings
- Alloy Steel Castings
- Stainless Steel Castings
- Heat-Resistant Cast Steel (HRCS)
- Weld Repair
- Heat Treatment
- Machining Inspection
