Role Description The Furniture Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad. This role is responsible for reviewing project drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities to accurately estimate furniture and interior product requirements. Day-to-day tasks include preparing detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and pricing sheets, coordinating with suppliers for quotations, and comparing costs to ensure value and quality. The Furniture Estimator collaborates with the design, procurement, and project teams to clarify requirements, manage revisions, and support budget planning and timeline commitments. The role also involves maintaining updated cost databases, tracking market rates, and contributing to proposals and client presentations.
Qualifications
- Strong estimation and quantity surveying skills, including experience with furniture or interior fit-out projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Comfort with cost analysis and budgeting, including comparison of supplier quotations and negotiation support.
- Knowledge of materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes related to furniture and interior products.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with design, sales, procurement, and project teams.
- Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong organizational skills for handling multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other estimation or project management tools; familiarity with CAD or similar software is an advantage.
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Furniture Design, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in an interior design firm, furniture manufacturing, or project-based estimation role is beneficial.
- Willingness to work on-site in Ahmedabad and engage with suppliers, vendors, and project stakeholders as needed.
