Role Description The Senior Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for interior and fit-out projects sourced through Arcedior’s platform. The role involves analyzing project drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities to determine material requirements, labor costs, and timelines. The Senior Estimator collaborates with design, procurement, and project management teams to refine budgets, assess value engineering options, and ensure estimates align with client expectations and company standards. Day-to-day tasks include requesting and evaluating vendor quotations, updating cost databases, preparing bid proposals, and supporting negotiations with suppliers and contractors. This position also contributes to risk assessment, tracking cost variations during project execution, and providing clear, data-backed recommendations to leadership and clients.
Qualifications
- Strong estimating and cost analysis skills for interior, furniture, and fit-out projects, with the ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in estimation and project costing software or spreadsheets, with solid numerical, analytical, and Excel skills.
- Knowledge of interior products, materials, finishes, and global sourcing practices, including familiarity with vendors and supply chains.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with design, procurement, and project teams and to present estimates clearly to stakeholders.
- Experience in value engineering, budget optimization, and cost control across the project lifecycle.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Relevant experience as an estimator or quantity surveyor in interiors, architecture, construction, or related fields; senior-level experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
- Comfort working on-site in Ahmedabad and collaborating in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
