Role Description The Full-time PhD Scholar role at RNS Institute of Technology is an on-site position based in Bengaluru. PhD Scholars are expected to conduct original research under the guidance of a supervisor, including literature review, research design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of results through publications and presentations. Day-to-day activities include working in labs or research facilities, attending seminars and academic meetings, collaborating with faculty and peers, and contributing to departmental academic initiatives. Scholars may be involved in assisting with teaching, mentoring students, and supporting ongoing projects while maintaining steady progress toward thesis completion. The role requires sustained commitment to scholarly excellence, ethical research practices, and active participation in the institute’s academic community.
Qualifications
- M.Tech/MS/M.Sc.
- Strong research aptitude, including ability to perform literature reviews, design studies, and analyze qualitative or quantitative data.
- Demonstrated academic excellence with a relevant master’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering, technology, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in academic writing, documentation, and presentation of research in English, including preparation of reports, articles, and conference papers.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively, manage time effectively, and meet research milestones and institutional deadlines.
- Familiarity with research tools and methodologies relevant to the chosen specialization; experience with statistical or analytical software is an advantage.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to integrity in research, including adherence to institutional policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Willingness to engage in teaching assistance, mentoring of students, and participation in seminars, workshops, and academic events.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with supervisors, peers, and external partners; prior research or industry experience is beneficial.
