Role Description The SDET II at Kulu is a full-time, on-site role based in PUNE. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites for Kulu’s financial technology platforms. The SDET II collaborates closely with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to ensure high-quality releases, identify defects early, and improve test coverage across APIs, web, and mobile applications. Daily activities include writing clean, maintainable test code, reviewing implementation for testability, analyzing logs and metrics, and contributing to continuous integration and deployment pipelines. The role also involves participating in technical discussions.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in at least one modern programming language (such as Java, Python, or JavaScript) and experience building or extending test automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing for App/Web and API services (for example, using tools like Webdriver IO, Playwright, Rest assured).
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including unit, integration, regression, performance, and security testing, and experience applying them in agile environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows (such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps) and version control systems like Git.
- Ability to design test plans, write clear test cases, analyze defects, and communicate findings effectively to cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with microservices, RESTful APIs, and databases, including validating data integrity and backend workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience as an SDET, QA Automation Engineer, or similar role in a product or fintech environment is highly beneficial.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced setting, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to building reliable, secure financial technology.
