Role Description The Freight Broker is a full-time, on-site role based in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. The person in this role will source and secure freight from shippers, identify and contract suitable carriers, and negotiate competitive rates that align with market conditions and customer expectations. Daily responsibilities include managing load assignments, tracking shipments, resolving service issues, and providing proactive updates to both shippers and carriers. The Freight Broker will use dispatch and freight management systems to monitor loads, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and maintain accurate documentation. This role also involves building strong relationships with new and existing clients, expanding the carrier network, and collaborating with internal teams to support billing, back-office processes, and continuous service improvements.
Qualifications
- Experience in freight brokerage, dispatch, or transportation logistics, with the ability to manage FTL, LTL, and specialized freight efficiently.
- Strong skills in carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and relationship management with shippers and carriers.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems, load boards, and tools for real-time tracking, EDI integration, and compliance monitoring.
- Solid understanding of industry regulations, including ELD and HOS requirements, and general freight safety and documentation standards.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills, with a customer-focused approach and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced on-site environment, prioritize multiple loads, and respond promptly to time-sensitive issues.
- Previous experience in logistics or supply chain, and familiarity with cross-border shipping, is preferred.
- High school diploma required; a degree or formal training in logistics, business, or a related field is an advantage.
