ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is an innovative European SME in the fragrance industry, with its R&D centre and manufacturing facilities based in Asia. As part of its continued growth, the company is looking to hire a Fragrance Analyst to join its R&D team in Jakarta.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Fragrance Analyst will lead the analytical work supporting fragrance creation, with a strong focus on GC-MS analysis. Working closely with perfumers, evaluators and quality teams, they will identify and interpret fragrance compositions, support new developments in fine fragrance and ensure the consistency and quality of raw materials and finished products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform GC-MS analyses of fragrances, raw materials and competitive products, and interpret results accurately.
- Identify and reconstruct fragrance compositions to support perfumers in creation and matching projects.
- Analyse naturals and synthetic raw materials, and help build and maintain internal analytical libraries.
- Support quality control and troubleshooting of raw materials and finished fragrances.
- Collaborate with perfumers, evaluators and R&D teams on fine fragrance projects.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of analytical equipment, and contribute to improving analytical methods.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
- Ideally 5+ years of experience as a Fragrance Analyst, ideally in fine fragrance.
- Strong hands-on expertise in GC-MS, including data interpretation and fragrance reconstitution.
- Good knowledge of fragrance raw materials, both naturals and synthetics.
- Experience in Asia is a plus, but not required.
- Good communication skills in English; teamwork and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to relocate to Jakarta.
