Managerial:
- Reports to the Global Sourcing Lead.
- Responsible for leading the team to achieve the company’s regional/global goals and objectives.
- Review performance data to monitor and optimize productivity, goal progress and activity levels.
- Lead and supervise direct reporting team in the delivery of operational activities listed below in a collaborative manner in full compliance to the stipulated /procedures/ processes/guidelines.
- Be a role model in demonstrating positive team culture and professionalism at the workplace
- Proactively develop and foster strong country client senior stakeholder relationships for countries in-scope.
- Provide first level country management escalation support on general issues and client feedback.
- Provide early heads up and escalate critical issues with possible solutions for consultation with Regional Sourcing Manager.
- Support and facilitate preparation and analysis of management reports, as required.
- Monitor staff performance, including conducting performance reviews. Coach and mentor staff to support their career development needs and maximize their potential.
- Hire and train new staff, as required.
- Support local business development activities, when required.
Operational:
- Support, define and implement country commodity strategies as well as sourcing area plan for sourcing requirements in Singapore across a spectrum of categories whilst ensuring appropriate alignment to global and regional commodity strategies. When requested by the management, support the sourcing of other commodities and/or for other countries.
- Contribute to allocated savings target as assigned to commodities and region.
- Foster effective collaboration and ensure strong communication line with key client stakeholders and colleagues in and across the regions to work towards shared business goals.
- Ensure appropriate supplier relationship management for assigned suppliers.
- At the outset, proactively engage and integrate input from respective regional sourcing specialist(s), regional sourcing lead(s) and/or global sourcing lead(s) in a way that the value generation will be optimized.
- Develop and strengthen long-term partnerships with business partners from clients. Develop key client stakeholder matrix per category/location to maintain regular engagement.
- Key contact person to the clients in Singapore, regional and global sourcing leads.
- Ensure representation of regional/local interests and market conditions of APAC clients to global sourcing commodities.
- When required, work with client business partners and Procurement team to integrate the appropriate commodities to support P2P implementation.
- Be fully aware of all regional and global sourcing initiatives, strategies and client business partners matters related to areas of responsibilities.
- Demonstrate proactive collaboration with client business partners by ensuring that the sourcing approach/strategy and delegated sourcing decision are always mutually discussed and agreed prior to delegating the sourcing, where applicable.
- Provide client business partners the appropriate sourcing support, when requested, during the course of the (delegated) sourcing event in order to drive successful outcomes and work towards shared business objectives to benefit the client.
Requirements:
- Qualification:
- University degree (ideally in economics or Supply Management) or industry experience equivalent
- Additional certification as Sourcing/Procurement professional
- Language:
- High proficiency in verbal and written English
- Experience:
- 8-10+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing in an international environment of indirect goods and/or services.
- Excellent communication (written, verbal) and interpersonal skills to positively influence others to make the appropriate decisions for the client(s) and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Leadership in an international environment (people-management and cross-functional team sourcing leadership)
- Strong project management experience
- Experienced in conducting tenders (RFI, RFP, RFQ)
- Highly competent in supplier negotiations and supplier contract negotiations knowledge
- Commodity sourcing experience in one or more of the following categories is highly advantageous :
- - IT (Hardware, Software, Telecommunication, Data Centre)
- - Professional Services- Facility Management, Corporate Services, Real Estate
- - Marketing
- - HR (Recruitment, Benefits, Payroll, Training)
- - Outsourcing & Offshoring (ITO, BPO, KPO)
- - Travel (Airlines, Hotels, Serviced Apartments, Travel Management Companies)
- - Banking services (Market Data, Exchanges)
