About Shymea
Shymea is a Western astrology app that helps people explore places, timing, relationships and everyday questions through their birth chart.
Our tools include Life Map, which compares approximately 390 cities; a chart-based AI guide; classical horary questions; and relationship insights. We also offer personalized daily letters, guided audio and free learning resources.
We’re live on iOS, Android is next, and we’ve received our first in-app purchase. The founder built the product. Now we’re looking for someone to help build the audience.
The role
You’ll turn Shymea’s ideas and features into content people want to watch, share and explore further.
This is a hands-on role: you’ll create the content yourself, publish it and use the results to improve. We’ll focus initially on Instagram and TikTok, adapting suitable videos for YouTube Shorts.
You’ll:
- Create short videos and carousels with strong hooks and clear storytelling.
- Shape Shymea’s voice and visual style alongside the founder.
- Build a consistent publishing schedule using templates and batch production.
- Test formats and track retention, engagement, website visits and attributable app installs.
- Turn audience questions and comments into content.
- Identify relevant creators for collaborations.
Part-time: Approximately 15–20 hours per week, focused on production, publishing and testing a manageable set of formats.
Full-time: Broader ownership of content strategy, production, community, creator collaborations and organic audience growth.
Priorities and output will match the agreed commitment. Paid advertising is outside the initial remit.
Who we’re looking for
You’ve personally helped an Instagram or TikTok account grow substantially—and can show your contribution.
You can edit videos, design polished carousels and explain why your content works. You’re comfortable taking initiative, testing ideas and working with limited resources.
Astrology knowledge is welcome, but not essential. Curiosity and sound editorial judgment matter. You should be comfortable working with AI-assisted, chart-based interpretations without presenting predictions as guarantees.
What you’ll get
You’ll work directly with the founder, who will support you with product knowledge, analytics, creative feedback and production tools.
You’ll have meaningful creative ownership, substantial product material to work with and the opportunity to grow into a larger leadership role as Shymea develops.
Commitment and equity
- Part-time, approximately 15–20 hours/week: 1% equity.
- Full-time: 1.5–2% equity, depending on experience and agreed responsibilities.
Equity vests over four years, with a one-year cliff and monthly vesting afterward. Percentages are calculated on a fully diluted basis at grant and are subject to future dilution.
If you move from part-time to full-time, we’ll agree on an updated grant. The full-time percentage represents your total equity, not an additional 1.5–2%.
Cash compensation
There is no cash salary, stipend or fee available initially. Please apply only if this is financially workable for you.
For either arrangement, the starting cash compensation is US$500 for each calendar month in which Shymea earns at least US$3,000 after app-store/payment fees and refunds, paid the following month.
If revenue falls below that threshold, no cash compensation accrues for that month. Payments resume for months that qualify. You’ll have visibility into the relevant revenue figures.
Compensation will be reviewed quarterly based on company revenue, individual performance and responsibilities. Increases are not automatic and will be agreed in writing.
Equity continues vesting throughout the active engagement, including months without cash compensation. Any engagement must comply with applicable local pay and employment requirements.
