Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fixed-wing Pilot role based in the Greater Ahmedabad Area. The pilot will operate fixed-wing UAVs for aerial mapping, inspection of solar PV plants, power lines, and other infrastructure projects, following established flight plans and safety procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include pre-flight planning, conducting safe and compliant flight operations, performing basic UAV maintenance checks, and maintaining accurate flight logs and mission reports. The role involves coordinating with project managers and technical teams to capture high-quality data, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure timely completion of field assignments. The pilot may also support testing and demonstration flights for new drone platforms developed by EnerComp’s design team.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in fixed-wing UAV operation, including pre-flight checks, mission planning, and in-flight navigation.
- Experience with aerial mapping workflows, basic GIS concepts, and data capture for inspection or survey projects.
- Knowledge of aviation and drone safety regulations, airspace rules, and standard operating procedures for UAV missions.
- Ability to perform routine troubleshooting and basic maintenance on fixed-wing drones and related ground control systems.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineering, field, and project management teams.
- Attention to detail, situational awareness, and strong problem-solving skills in field operations.
- Relevant pilot certification or training for UAV/fixed-wing operations, as required by local regulations.
- Prior experience in drone operations for energy, infrastructure, or mapping projects is an advantage.
- Comfort with on-site field work, travel to project locations, and working in varied outdoor conditions.
