Job details:
Field Marketing Manager, Astra Security
Experience: 4 to 8 years, Location: Bengaluru, India
Role Overview
Astra is a continuous pentest platform used by 1,200+ engineering teams. Over the past year, we've run closed-door CISO dinners, experiential events, and trade show exhibitions. Some worked, some didn't, and we now have a fair idea of which is which.
We're looking for someone who has run events at scale to take what we've learned and build events into a repeatable channel that drives pipeline. You'll own the calendar, budget, and execution, and work closely with sales to ensure attendees turn into qualified opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the field marketing plan: Build the annual calendar across roundtables, private dinners, experiential events, and trade shows, planned against target accounts, pipeline goals, and GTM priorities.
- Own pipeline from events: The job doesn't end when the event does. Work with Sales to make sure every relevant attendee has an owner, next step, and follow-up, and track how those accounts move into pipeline and revenue.
- Build the right audience: Work with BDRs, AEs, and Marketing Ops to build and vet target lists, drive registrations, and make sure the people in the room are the right ICP accounts and decision-makers for Astra.
- Work closely with Sales: Start planning months ahead of key events, align on accounts and meeting goals, stay on top of outreach and follow-up, and use events for both net-new pipeline and accelerating existing deals.
- Own budget and ROI: Decide where the field budget goes, control spend and measure meetings, opportunities, pipeline, revenue, and return. Be willing to challenge whether we should sponsor an event, attend it, co-host, or run something of our own instead.
- Run events end to end: Own vendors, venues, booths, travel, AV, collateral, speakers, run-of-show, and on-ground execution. Have a backup plan when things inevitably change.
- Build creative field plays: Think beyond booths and conferences. Test formats like private dinners, executive experiences, golf sessions, partner events, and creative activities that reach the ICP and drive social amplification.
- Build field + ABM programs: Work with outbound teams to surround priority accounts before, during, and after events using account research, personalized outreach, intent, and targeted campaigns.
- Own reporting: Work with Marketing Ops to build HubSpot views, dashboards and automations that clearly show registrations, attendees, meetings, opportunities, pipeline and revenue from field programs.
- Operate AI-first: Use AI for account research, guest-list building, outreach, vendor comparisons, event briefs, follow-ups, reporting, creating SLAs, landing pages, decks, ebooks, and for analysis. Find ways to run the function faster and better without waiting for someone else to drive it.
Qualifications
- 4 to 8 years in B2B SaaS marketing, with at least 3 years owning field or event programs at a SaaS company.
- Has run executive dinners, roundtables and trade show programs end to end, including planning, audience building, execution, follow-up and pipeline reporting.
- Thinks in terms of pipeline and revenue, not just registrations, attendance, or event experience.
- Has worked closely with AEs, BDRs, and Marketing Ops to build target lists, drive attendance, manage follow-up, and move accounts into opportunities.
- Can identify the right ICP accounts and decision-makers across startups, mid-market and enterprise segments.
- Hands-on with HubSpot or Salesforce and understands lifecycle stages, campaign attribution, opportunity tracking, and reporting.
- Has managed event budgets and vendors, and can make a commercial call on whether an event is worth sponsoring based on expected return.
- Comfortable running field and ABM programs together, including account targeting, outreach, intent data, and event-based plays.
- Highly organized, hands-on, and able to drive work independently without needing constant follow-up.
- Already uses AI tools in day-to-day work and can share specific examples of how they improved research, planning, outreach, reporting, or follow-up.
- Writes and communicates clearly, whether it's an invite, sales brief, event plan, or management update.
- Willing to travel within India and internationally when required.
- Has worked cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing Ops, Content, Product Marketing, Customer Success, and leadership to plan and execute field programs.
- Can lead cross-functional execution without formal authority, keep owners accountable, and drive programs forward without waiting for someone else to coordinate.
- Comfortable operating as a hands-on IC while also leading agencies, vendors, and internal team members, with the ability to build and manage a field marketing team as the function scales.
Good to Have
- Marketing experience in cybersecurity or developer tools.
- An existing network of security leaders in Europe, US, India, or Southeast Asia or ties to communities like DSCI, ISACA, OWASP, and CISO forums.
- Experience running events outside India (Singapore, Middle East, US, and Europe).
- Hands-on HubSpot skills across landing pages, forms, lists, and workflows, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new marketing tools.
- ABM experience: building account lists, using intent data, and running LinkedIn ads to fill event rooms.
- Has built a field program from zero at an early-stage company.
