Role Description The Export Merchandiser at akiiko will manage and coordinate international merchandising activities for the brand’s product range, including bags, home decor, and lifestyle accessories. This full-time, on-site role based in Chennai involves handling export orders, preparing product assortments and catalogues for overseas clients, and ensuring timely communication with buyers and distributors. The role includes tracking shipments, maintaining documentation, and working closely with production and logistics teams to meet delivery schedules and quality standards. The Export Merchandiser will also support pricing, negotiation, and basic market research to understand international customer preferences and help optimize product offerings for global markets.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal interaction with international clients and internal teams.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to manage buyer relationships, address inquiries, and ensure a positive client experience.
- Candidates should possess Sales and Marketing skills to support negotiations, prepare product presentations, and contribute to export growth strategies.
- Candidates should possess Retail-related skills, such as understanding product assortment, pricing, and merchandising for different international markets.
- Relevant experience in export merchandising, international trade, or supply chain coordination is necessary.
- Knowledge of export documentation and basic logistics processes is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic data management tools is preferred.
- A diploma or degree in Business, International Trade, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field is beneficial.
