Role - Manager – EHS
Reports to - Plant Director

Role Purpose
Lead the site-wide Environment, Health & Safety function by establishing robust EHS systems, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, managing operational risks, preventing incidents and strengthening a proactive safety and environmental culture across the manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, standards and annual action plans aligned with business and manufacturing requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Factory, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Fire, Electrical, Pollution Control and other statutory requirements; manage licences, consents, renewals and regulatory submissions.
- Lead implementation and maintenance of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems; coordinate internal, external, customer and statutory audits and closure of findings.
- Conduct risk assessments, HIRA/JSA, environmental aspect-impact assessments and process safety reviews; establish effective controls.
- Lead incident and near-miss investigations, root-cause analysis, CAPA and horizontal deployment to prevent recurrence.
- Manage emergency preparedness and response, fire protection, drills, crisis management, business continuity and recovery plans.
- Oversee hazardous/non-hazardous waste, ETP/STP, pollution-control systems, water conservation, recycling and environmental performance reporting.
- Drive ESG, energy and carbon-reduction initiatives, including GHG monitoring, energy conservation, renewable-energy and sustainability projects.
- Develop and deliver EHS induction, behavioural safety, statutory and role-specific training; build safety awareness across employees and contractors.
- Establish contractor EHS controls covering pre-qualification, induction, permit-to-work, LOTO, PPE, safe work practices and performance monitoring.
- Partner with Engineering, Facility & Maintenance, Production, Quality and HR on machine safety, chemical/process safety, occupational health and new-project requirements.
- Prepare and manage EHS OPEX/CAPEX budgets, monitor EHS metrics and present compliance, risk and sustainability performance to site leadership.
EHS & Environmental Scope
- Fire & life-safety systems, emergency response, drills and crisis management.
- Hazardous waste, pollution-control compliance, ETP/STP and water-management systems.
- Environmental consents, statutory submissions, compliance reporting and regulatory liaison.
- Occupational health programs, annual health checks, first-aid readiness and workplace hygiene.
- Energy management, carbon-emission reduction, resource conservation and ESG initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline is preferred; Diploma/PG Diploma in Industrial Safety is mandatory.
- 15+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, including significant site-level EHS leadership experience.
- Exposure to electronics, electrical, automotive, precision engineering, electroplating, stamping, injection moulding or similar manufacturing environments preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, statutory compliance, incident investigation, risk assessment, emergency management and environmental programs.
- Experience managing regulatory authorities, contractors, audits, EHS CAPEX/OPEX and cross-functional improvement projects.
Certifications & Technical Knowledge
- Industrial Safety qualification recognized by the applicable statutory authority; NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent certification preferred.
- Lead Auditor qualification/certification for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 and sustainability frameworks is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Indian EHS legislation, Factory Rules, Pollution Control Board requirements, hazardous-waste regulations, fire safety and environmental reporting.
- Strong understanding of HIRA/JSA, RCA, CAPA, MOC, emergency response, contractor safety, LOTO, permit-to-work and machine/process safety.
- Proficiency in EHS management systems, SAP/ERP and MS Office; ability to analyse EHS data and prepare management reports.

Working Requirements
On-site manufacturing role requiring regular interaction with operations, contractors and regulatory stakeholders, with support during emergencies, drills, shutdowns or critical incidents as required.
