Role Description The Engineering Trainee will work full time on-site in the Pune Division, supporting senior engineers and technicians in machining, reconditioning, and press repair projects. Daily tasks include assisting with equipment inspections, measurements, and basic diagnostics; preparing technical documentation and reports; and supporting the setup and operation of machine tools and CNC systems under supervision. The role also involves learning and applying mechanical engineering principles to press spares manufacturing, welding solutions, and retrofit projects, while adhering to safety standards and quality procedures. The trainee will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and gradually take on more responsibility as technical skills develop.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in mechanical or production engineering concepts, preferably with a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Basic exposure to machining processes, workshop practices, and manufacturing drawings, with the ability to read and interpret technical schematics.
- Interest in CNC machines, retrofit solutions, and industrial repair work, with willingness to learn programming basics and machine operation.
- Understanding of industrial safety practices and quality control principles, with careful attention to detail and precision.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to follow instructions, document work clearly, and support root-cause analysis.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and shop-floor personnel in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability to on-site industrial conditions, readiness to work hands-on with heavy-duty equipment, and openness to learning new tools and technologies.
- Prior internship or project experience in machining, fabrication, press maintenance, or related areas is an advantage but not mandatory.
