Job Summary
Lunar Wave LLC is looking for an experienced Email & SMS Marketing Manager to manage and optimize retention marketing across multiple US-focused e-commerce brands.
We acquire customers at scale through paid advertising, and we need someone who can maximize the value of that traffic through email marketing, SMS campaigns, automation, segmentation, upselling, cross-selling, and customer retention.
The ideal candidate should have strong direct-response copywriting skills, hands-on experience with Klaviyo, and a revenue-focused approach to lifecycle marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Email & SMS marketing across multiple US-focused e-commerce stores.
- Build, manage, and optimize automated flows, including Welcome Series, Abandoned Cart, Abandoned Checkout, Browse Abandonment, Post-Purchase, Upsell/Cross-sell, Win-back, and Re-engagement.
- Plan and execute promotional email and SMS campaigns.
- Write high-converting copy, subject lines, hooks, and calls to action (CTAs).
- Segment customers based on purchase history, engagement, and behavioral data.
- Conduct A/B testing of offers, messaging, creatives, send times, segmentation, and automated flows.
- Increase Email & SMS revenue contribution across multiple stores.
- Monitor email deliverability, sender reputation, list health, and engagement metrics.
- Develop effective opt-in strategies to grow email and SMS subscriber lists.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators, including revenue, conversion rates, click-through rates (CTR), unsubscribe rates, revenue per recipient, and repeat purchases.
- Collaborate with Media Buying, Creative, and Store teams to align retention marketing with overall business objectives.
- Prepare weekly performance reports and identify new revenue-generation opportunities.
- Audit existing Email & SMS marketing systems and implement strategies to improve revenue and customer lifetime value (LTV).
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of hands-on Email & SMS marketing experience.
- Freshers with strong copywriting knowledge and skills may also apply.
- Candidates with 1+ year of experience must have hands-on experience working with DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) brands and strong copywriting skills.
- Experience working with US-based e-commerce or DTC brands.
- Strong hands-on experience with Klaviyo.
- Experience with SMS marketing platforms such as Postscript, Attentive, or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of Shopify.
- Strong direct-response copywriting skills and excellent written English.
- Understanding of customer segmentation, marketing automation, lifecycle marketing, and retention strategies.
- Knowledge of email deliverability, subscriber list management, and email marketing best practices.
- Familiarity with US email and SMS marketing compliance requirements, including CAN-SPAM and TCPA.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to independently manage multiple brands and marketing campaigns.
What Success Looks Like
This is not simply an email scheduling or campaign management role. We are looking for someone who thinks like a retention marketer and focuses on generating more revenue from existing customers and leads.
The successful candidate should be able to audit an existing Shopify store's Email & SMS marketing ecosystem, identify missed revenue opportunities, develop a strategy, and independently execute and optimize campaigns and automated flows.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Email & SMS revenue contribution
- Automated flow revenue
- Campaign revenue
- Revenue per recipient
- Repeat purchase rate
- Customer lifetime value (LTV)
- Email deliverability and list health
- Subscriber list growth
