Job details:
Company Description Netcomm is a diversified infrastructure and field-services company with nearly three decades of experience delivering installation, operations, and business-process services across telecom, industrial, government, and education sectors. The organization has built and scaled multiple business lines over its history — telecom network installation and repair, DTH and connectivity field services, business-process and call-centre operations spanning retention, verification and collections, and large-scale field workforce deployment for public and private sector clients alike. Netcomm partners with telecom majors, government and public-sector bodies, and industrial and educational institutions to execute on-ground work that keeps critical infrastructure running. IT infrastructure and emerging technology capabilities complement this core strength, layered on top of a foundation built on physical execution rather than the other way around. Teams work directly at the site level — installing, maintaining, and reporting against every engagement under a disciplined, MIS-driven delivery model refined over nearly 30 years in the field.
Role Description This is a full-time, field Electrical Engineer role based in Chennai. TYou'll be responsible for end-to-end electrical installation work at client and project sites — from site survey through commissioning, testing, and ongoing maintenance — working within Netcomm's governed, MIS-driven delivery model that has run field operations for telecom, industrial and government clients for over 25 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and electrical load/feasibility assessments before installation
- Execute electrical installation work: panel wiring, distribution boards, MCBs/DBs, earthing systems, and cabling per approved designs
- Install, test, and commission electrical equipment and systems, ensuring full compliance with safety codes and standards (IS/CEA regulations)
- Liaise with DISCOMs/electricity boards for power connections, load sanctions, and approvals where required
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance visits, diagnosing and resolving faults within defined turnaround times
- Maintain accurate site visit reports, test certificates, and MIS documentation for every job, closing out only with customer/client sign-off
- Coordinate with civil contractors, vendors, and internal project teams to keep installations on schedule
- Follow all workplace electrical safety protocols and PPE requirements at every site
Qualifications
- Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- 1–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, commissioning, or field engineering (freshers with strong practical training may also apply)
- Working knowledge of LT/HT electrical systems, panels, earthing, and cabling practices
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards and testing/commissioning procedures
- Exposure to EV charging infrastructure (AC/DC chargers, connector types, OCPP) is a strong plus, though not mandatory
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites
- Good communication skills for client-facing site visits and reporting
- Comfortable working with basic MS Office / reporting tools for MIS documentation
