Roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for working in the offer and execution phase.
- Review the tender documents provided in the proposals and raise technical queries. Follow up on tender bulletins as applicable.
- Work closely with the Project Management team for efficient and effective Execution of the project.
- Preparation of deliverables such as consumer list, Instrument Lists, IO Lists, Cable Interconnection Drawings, Control System Interlocking Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Instrument Hook-Ups, Instrument Location Plans, JB Grouping, PLC Architecture Drawings and Instrument Datasheets.
- Preparation of specifications, data sheets and sizing of electrical equipment, SLDs & schematic diagrams, electrical calculations, electrical layouts, inquiry/purchase requisition, vendor offer review & document review, lighting calculation for cement & mineral processing products/projects.
- Prepare various estimates like bill of quantities, material cost, man-hours, software cost, vendor assistance, vendor visits and any other estimates as required for the bid.
- Provide engineering input to the proposals team, prepare technical queries, risk register, project execution plan, technical bid analysis and optimisation.
- Review contract requirements for project execution, organise the preparation of the Technical Document Register (TDR), identify requirements and scope of work.
- Establish contract review criteria, identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal through the instigation of technical queries to projects/client.
- Verify and conceptualise the most optimum work route. Identify a clear scope of work/supply.
- Plan or schedule according to the engineering activities and manpower resources. Identify and quantify the total number of engineering deliverables, man-hour allocation, delivery format, time schedules and other requirements for execution of the work.
- Ensure compliance of design based on engineering practices, company standards, client contract requirements and applicable international codes and standards for assigned projects.
- Provide inputs for the preparation of equipment layout, organise the issuance of engineering drawings and technical documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDCs) and coordinate with other engineering disciplines in the integration of data inputs.
- Prepare Inquiry Requisitions to vendors, lead and guide the Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and coordinate preparation of PRs (Purchase Requisitions) for the procurement of equipment and materials.
- Perform and or/supervise the review of vendor drawings, documents and design calculations. Ensure that vendor equipment specifications comply with client equipment specifications. Ensure that materials are received within scheduled timeframes and budgeted costs.
- Coordinate with projects and planning departments on schedule-related issues.
- Interface regularly with client and vendor representatives to ensure that the project progresses in accordance with schedule, allotted man-hours and budgeted costs.
